Lilan er uddannet som læge i USA og Danmark. Hun blev speciallæge i plastikkirurgi i 2017 og har arbejdet mange år på Rigshospitalet, Herlev Plastikkirurgiske Afdeling samt Amalieklinikken. Til hverdag arbejder hun som ledende overlæge på Herlev Hospitals plastikkirurgiske afdeling. Hun har undervist kommende speciallæger i kirurgi på Panum Instituttet i København.
