Rhinoplasty (nose surgery)

Rhinoplasty can improve the proportions of the nose and create better balance in the face. The procedure typically reshapes cartilage and bone and is performed under general anaesthesia. The goal is a natural result that fits your facial anatomy.

Who may benefit?

Rhinoplasty may be relevant for bumps or irregularities on the bridge, desired changes to the tip or nostrils, asymmetry or a crooked septum - and in some cases for breathing issues related to nasal structure. Combined aesthetic and functional correction (including septoplasty) can be discussed at consultation.

How the operation works

A typical nose operation takes 2–3 hours. The technique is adapted to tip, bridge + tip or advanced correction. After previous nose surgery, reconstruction with cartilage from the ear or rib may be relevant.

Healing

Most people resume normal activities after 1–2 weeks. The final result is often not visible until about 12 months. Sutures are typically removed after one week. Some patients need a minor revision - often under local anaesthesia.

Risks

As with other surgical procedures, nosebleeds, swelling or infection at the incision site may occur. These are discussed individually before surgery.
