Brow lift

With age the brows often descend, which can cause loose skin and heaviness around the upper eyelids - and in some cases restrict the visual field. A brow lift repositions the brows and can create a more open, refreshed look. It can be combined with facelift or eyelid surgery.

Who is it for?

A brow lift may be relevant for persistent forehead lines at rest, drooping brows with heaviness over the lids, restricted visual field, or fatigue/headache from constantly lifting the brows.

Direct brow lift

In a direct brow lift a boat-shaped strip of skin is removed just above the brows so the scar sits in the brow edge. The method targets brow position, is less invasive than many forehead lifts, and is typically done under local anaesthesia in about 1.5 hours. A temporal/temple lift is an alternative when the focus is the outer brow.

Result and risks

After healing a fresher expression with brows in a more natural position is expected. The result typically settles after about 3 months. Risks may include swelling and discoloration for 1–2 weeks, blurred vision on the first day and temporary numbness around the scar.
