Temple lift (temporal lift)
“It is not always the entire face that needs to be lifted. Sometimes, it is simply the outer corner of the eye that needs to regain its lightness.”
About the treatment
Temporal Lift – Restoring Lightness Around the Eyes
With age, the outer part of the eyebrow may gradually descend, and the skin around the outer corner of the eye can become looser or more wrinkled. This can give the eye area a heavier or more tired appearance, even when the rest of the face still looks harmonious.
At AGATA, the aim is not to create an obviously “lifted” look. The goal is to restore lightness, balance and a natural position around the eye area, so that you continue to look like yourself.
For some patients, a temporal lift is sufficient on its own. For others, it may be combined with upper or lower eyelid surgery, a forehead lift or a facelift to create better overall facial balance.
How is the procedure performed?
The incision is placed discreetly within the hairline at the temple. The tissue is gently released within the deeper connective tissue layer and lifted in a natural upward direction.
If needed, a small amount of excess skin around the outer corner of the eye can also be removed. The tissue is then secured in its new position.
The procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia or as part of a more extensive facial procedure.
Recovery
After surgery, mild swelling, tenderness and some bruising around the temple and outer corner of the eye are normal.
Most patients feel socially presentable again after approximately 1–2 weeks, although the tissues continue to settle gradually over the following months.
Are there risks?
All surgical procedures involve some degree of risk, but the great majority of patients have an uncomplicated recovery.
After a temporal lift, swelling, bruising, tenderness and temporary changes in sensation may occur. During the consultation, we carefully assess your anatomy and the planned treatment so that the procedure can be tailored as gently and individually as possible.
What can you expect from the result?
A temporal lift should not change your face. It should simply restore some of the lightness that has gradually been lost.
The outer part of the eyebrow may be subtly elevated, the eye area can appear more open, and the overall expression often becomes more rested and harmonious.
