Body contouring

Body contouring (liposculpture) shapes the silhouette by removing fat where there is excess and optionally transferring it to areas lacking volume – e.g. buttocks, hips or breasts. In men the focus is often slimming hips, abdomen and back to highlight muscle without necessarily moving fat.

Who is it for?

Best for people near ideal weight with local problem areas, wanting liposuction plus more fullness elsewhere, or improving proportions/symmetry. Fat transfer typically needs at least about 500 ml of donor fat. Not smoking is required with fat transfer.

How it works

Typically under general anaesthesia for 2–3+ hours. Common areas: buttocks, abdomen/waist, thighs/legs and breasts. Scope and combination are planned to be safe and effective.

Risks

Risks as with liposuction and optional fat transfer: bleeding, infection, swelling, asymmetry and partial fat absorption. Treating too many areas at once raises risk.

Recovery and maintenance

Healing is typically 2–4 weeks. Results are long-lasting but affected by diet, exercise and weight. Minor irregularities can be refined later if needed.
