Om behandlingen
In a balanced face the chin typically reaches a point just below the front line of the lower lip. A recessed or short chin can blur the transition between chin and neck - and in some cases make the nose appear larger in profile. A chin implant can add projection and improve the profile.
Consultation
At consultation the extent is assessed, and implant type and size as well as incision placement and anaesthesia are chosen.
The operation
If there are fat deposits under the chin, liposuction under the chin and on the front of the neck can be planned at the same time. The incision is placed under the chin or inside the lower lip. A pocket is created for the implant, which is fixed to deep tissue.
Expected result
A chin implant often does not need replacement unless bone thinning occurs later with age. The implant can remain comfortable for more than 10 years.
