A temple lift (temporal lift) tightens and lifts the skin around the temples and the outer brow. The aim is a more open, refreshed look - especially when a tired expression is concentrated around the temple and outer eye area. It can also be chosen as an add-on to a facelift.
Who is it for?
A temple lift may be relevant for loose or excess skin around the temples, a tired look concentrated laterally, upper lid descent caused by lax temple skin, or a wish to lift the outer brows.
How it works
Small, discreet incisions are typically placed in the scalp hidden by hair or along the hairline. Excess skin is removed and underlying tissue is tightened and fixed. The operation is typically performed under local anaesthesia.
Result and risks
After healing a more open look around the eyes is expected. The result typically settles after about 3 months and is long-lasting, but follows natural ageing. Most people take up to a week off. Temple lift is among the gentler forms of brow lift with a shorter healing time than many alternatives.
